PARENT AND FAMILY INVOLVEMENT

IN OUR SCHOOLS

WHEN: Tuesday, March 28th

PLACE: Auditorium at Carver Educational Services Center

(850 Hungerford Drive, Rockville – Across from Montgomery College)

This important program will address: 

v Roles and rules of parent involvement in schools 

v How family involvement support student achievement and school improvement

v Resources to develop and strengthen family and community partnerships

v Examples of successful family engagement programs in MCPS schools

v State-level initiatives to support Maryland Parent Advisory Council's (MPAC) recommendations

Dr. Mike Hickey, Director, Center for Leadership in Education, Towson University

Ms. Jane Butler, Director, Division of Family and Community Partnerships, MCPS

Ms. Barbara Scherr, Family Involvement Specialist, Maryland State Dept. of Education
