AEI Advisory Committee

The AEI Advisory Committee continues the work of the Deputy Superintendent's Advisory Committee (DSAC) on Gifted and Talented Education, advising staff on the implementation of the recommendations from the DSAC Gifted and Talented Education Report and providing feedback and continuing guidance on MCPS programs and the implementation and revision of MCPS Policy IOA, Gifted and Talented Education.

Curriculum Advisory Committee

The committee meets several times each year to obtain stakeholder input, feedback, and recommendations as an integral part of the curriculum development and review process.   Committee members are responsible for gathering information on a specific curricular area, seeking clarification, reporting to their constituency, collecting input from their constituency, and providing feedback to the committee.

Deputy's Minority Achievement Advisory Council

To provide a forum for an open dialogue among the highest levels of Montgomery County Public Schools leadership and community leaders who are committed to minority achievement in Montgomery County Public Schools.

Disproportionality Steering Committee

The purpose of this committee is to review current policies and practices that may be contributing to the disproportionate identification of students with disabilities based on race and ethnicity; placement within particular educational settings; and incidence, duration, and type of disciplinary actions, including suspension and expulsion.

Grading and Reporting Implementation Team (GRIT)

GRIT is a multi-stakeholder group that advises the MCPS deputies on implementation of Policy IKA, Grading and Reporting. The team provides input and feedback on various aspects of implementation including communication, professional development, and evaluation. MCCPTA advocates on behalf of students and parents offering direct feedback from local schools.

High School Assessment Communications Committee

Charge of the HSA Communications Committee is to develop a comprehensive internal and external communication plan that provides students, parents and staff with the necessary information to ensure success on the HSA.

School Safety and Security Steering Committee

Group is charged with acting as a central clearinghouse for initiatives and ideas (concerns, interventions and prevention) for the improvement of safety and security in the schools.

Secondary Learning Center Transition Project Management Team

The team is to develop and monitor a comprehensive plan to provide appropriate services and supports for students who would have been considered for a Secondary Learning Center placement and for students who choose to leave a LC and return to their home or consortia schools. The team is also charged with developing and monitoring the implementation of a plan to improve instruction in the Secondary Learning Centers as long as they remain open.

Shared Accountability Advisory Committee

The SAAC is an advisory committee to the Department of Shared Accountability. The Committee provides guidance, feedback, and recommendations regarding studies, presentations of information, etc. that the Department of Shared Accountability reports.

Superintendent’s Advisory Committee for the Performing Arts
